Shakespeare's classic love story was moved from renaissance Italy to urban America in our production. I drew from various contemporary sources for costume research, including magazines focusing on hip-hop, skateboarding, and urban youth culture as well as catalogues for pre-teen girls and magazines marketed to wealthy urban adults.
