'Tis Pity She's a Whore

For this dark Jacobean drama, I set the play in a cold urban world that combined a 1930s aesthetic with contemporary design elements. The design was primarily informed by the sleek lines and strict palette of Russian constructivist artists like the Stenberg Brothers and Kazimir Malevitch. Using only stripes for pattern, the clothes reflect the harsh, confined world of the play. Contemporary couture and 1930s fashion photography further informed the garments.
